Top tips & tricks to get the most out of your printer, you need to maintain it properly. Find the best tips for maintaining your printer.
1. Place the printer in an appropriate location
Well, printers are quite intricate and need to be handled with care. Even though printers are sturdy, one needs to provide it with the best condition to work in if one wants them to perform their best. Therefore, one must pay attention to where they are keeping their printer. Placing the printer in a hot and humid condition, especially where there is exposure to direct sunlight will harm the computer. Keep the printer in a cool and dry place, away from any heat source.
2. Clean the printer
Over time, dust and debris may accumulate inside the printer, causing it to malfunction. Make sure that you clean the printer on a regular basis and get a printer cover. For cleaning the printer, a small vacuum cleaner works well.
3. Update the drivers and software
Many printer owners fail to update to the latest printer drivers. When one remains updated by installing the driver updates, it will assist in keeping the printer in a good working condition. Whenever the user receives any notification regarding an available software or drivers update, rather than ignoring or postponing it, install the updates right away.
4. Protect the printhead nozzles
Well, if dust enters the ink nozzles, then it can clog them and block the ink from passing through. So, make sure that dust does not enter your nozzle. Ink cartridges are not very cheap, and if they are not used for a long time, they may get dried out. Therefore, you should use your printer at least once in ten days, and prevent the ink from drying out.
5. Clean the print head
It is important to take care of your print head. Clean it one or two times a month. Turn the printer off and unplug it from the power source. Open the printer and simply detach the cartridge and use lukewarm water to clean the print head. Dip a clean lint-free cloth in water, squeeze all the excess water and gently wipe the print head. Now, wipe it with a dry piece of cloth, and insert the cartridge back in the printer.
6. Go for the best ink refill
Refill cartridges are not too budget-friendly, and for this reason, users may get inclined to purchase cheaper cartridges. Do not buy poor quality toner or ink cartridges for your printer. Instead, go for good quality cartridges from reputed bands.
7. Switch the printer off
Is your printer not going to be in use for a significant amount of time? It is better to turn it off then. Printers get heated when they are powered on. Due to the heat, the cartridge may get dried out. If a printer is not being used but is kept turned on, then it will also lead to wear and tear. Therefore, keep it powered off when you are not using it.
